DOJ settles lawsuit against Agri Stats

The Department of Justice has settled their civil lawsuit against data company Agri Stats for potential anticompetitive practices in the meat industry.

In a social media post on Thursday, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche says the agreement will make the company’s pricing reports available to all buyers and sellers and levels the playing field for the food supply chain.

Blanche says the Agri Stats’ business model allowed for sharing of confidential information among buyers of chicken, pork and turkey at a competitive advantage.
