Dream come true for 66th Princess Kay

The 66th Princess Kay of the Milky Way says her dream came true Wednesday night.

Amy Kyllow of Byron in southeast Minnesota says she dreamed of someday being crowned Princess Kay.

“But to actually have it come true, that’s a whole (different) story. And I am just so privileged to be standing here today.”

The 19-year-old college student says she’s looking forward to serving Minnesota’s dairy community, beginning at the State Fair.

“I really want (people) to know how nutritious dairy is, and want them to know I eat dairy too every single day. Because it’s something I believe is important for me to live a healthy life.”

As Princess Kay, Kyllow will spend the next year making public appearances to help connect consumers to Minnesota’s dairy farm families.  Her first official duty will be sitting in a rotating cooler for nearly 8 hours as her likeness is sculpted in a 90-pound block of butter that will be on display throughout the State Fair.
