EPA announces public comment period on E15 request

The EPA has announced a public comment period on the request to boost the ethanol blend to 15 percent.

Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says sources tell him the comment period will begin April 22 and be open for 30 days. Growth Energy and 54 ethanol manufacturerssubmitted the E15 application to EPA on March 6th. Current statute calls for EPA to make a decision with 270 days of receipt, which is December 1st, 2009.
