EPA unaware of White House ag event, casting doubt on RVO reveal
It is unclear whether the Trump administration will make a major announcement on biofuels during an event next week.
American Coalition for Ethanol members flew to Washington D.C. this week to meet with federal officials as part of its annual fly-in.
ACE CEO Brian Jennings tells Brownfield the EPA did not confirm Renewable Volume Obligations for 2026 and 2027 would be included in the White House celebration of agriculture scheduled for March 27th.
“I’m not sure I am as confident after EPA told us (Wednesday) that when CBS reported about that March 27th event that that was news to EPA, that they weren’t aware that was an event that was happening.”
But Jennings is confident an RVO decision will be revealed before the end of the month.
“So I think if that White House event is still happening next Friday on the 27th, that would naturally be a good place for that announcement to take place.”
Jennings says ACE strongly supports the RVO proposal put forth by EPA last year and says he’s encouraged those numbers will be reflected in the final rule.
