Ernst calls on Congress to pass year-round E15 solution

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst says Congress needs to prioritize a solution for year-round E15.

“We do have a bill in the Senate, but it needs to move forward so that it can actually benefit our Iowa farmers and fuel producers.”

The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield yearly emergency waivers aren’t sustainable long-term. She says the fuel is needed to help give consumers more options.

“It would benefit Americans at the gas pump by providing greater choice. This bill has not moved forward, but we continue to push for year-round E15. We know it will strengthen our rural communities and it’s going to keep the gas prices low.”

Eight Midwestern states can sell the fuel year-round beginning in 2025, but supporters say a federal fix would open access for all 50 states during the summer driving season.
