Ethanol exports strong during March
U.S. ethanol exports surged from February to March.
The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol exports of 195.8 million gallons were up 41% on the month and 23% on the year.
Canada claimed the top spot for the fourth year in a row, taking in a six month high, followed by the United Kingdom, the European Union, India, and South Korea.
The U.S. did import 1.6 million gallons of ethanol, mostly from Brazil.
Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were 1.03 million tons, 21% higher than the previous month, mainly to Mexico, South Korea, and Indonesia.
For the first quarter of 2025, U.S. ethanol exports are 532.6 million gallons, 19% ahead of the record 2024 pace, but DDGS exports are 2.69 million tons, 9% slower than last year.
Export demand is influenced by several factors, including the relative value of the dollar, shipping capacity, and geopolitical issues.
