Ethanol stocks hit 2025 lows

Ethanol demand signs were largely positive over the past week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says the domestic supply fell to an eight month low at 22.649 million barrels, a decrease of 1.107 million on the week and 705,000 on the year.

Net inputs of ethanol purchased by refiners and blenders rose to a two month high, even as the volume of gasoline supplied to the market declined.

The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol exports averaged 123,000 barrels per day, up 7,000 from the previous week and 52,000 from a year ago.

Ethanol production averaged 1.093 million per day, 12,000 more than last week and 21,000 larger than last year.

Iowa State University’s Center for Agricultural and Rural Development says the estimated operating margin for the average Iowa plant continues to indicate at least some profit.

The USDA expects 5.47 billion bushels of corn to be used for ethanol production this marketing year, rising to 5.6 billion bushels next marketing year.
