EU expects slight uptick in dairy production and processing

The U.S. Foreign Ag Service says milk production growth in the European Union is expected to be limited with exports increasing slightly to meet growing demand.

In its semi-annual report, the FAS office says the EU’s herd size is declining slightly as cows become more efficient with production expected to increase fractionally from 2020.

The agency is calling for cheese, butter, whole dry milk, and non-fat dry milk production will increase in 2021 because of the growth with growing global demand supportive to prices.
