Farm Bureau says Senate needs to understand the importance of tax reform
Farm Bureau members want the U.S. Senate to pass the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, which was overwhelmingly approved by the U.S. House in February.
Ohio Farm Bureau Federation President Bill Patterson tells Brownfield the tax relief package currently sitting in the Senate would directly benefit farmers.
“It’s going to allow you to immediately write off the full value of any equipment that you buy today,” he says. “As you think about how quickly agriculture is moving, having that full ability to fully depreciate any type of these very expensive assets to offset income and whatever else you’re doing in the farm is extremely, extremely important.”
Brownfield interviewed Patterson as part of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s County President’s Trip in Washington, D.C.
