The next CEO of Farm Credit Illinois says she continues to monitor the ag economy as she transitions to her new role.

Kelly Duitsman Hunt tells Brownfield…

“That long term vision and plan means that we can remain around and support our members through all points of the cycle.”  She says, “We want to be here to serve fully, so that’s at the root of how we do our long term strategic planning.”

She tells Brownfield the transition comes at a time when the organization is constructing its next strategic plan, Vision 2035.

“We’ll get our binoculars out and see if we can look out 10 years from now and imagine how great it could look like and what our producers are going to need 10 years from now.”  She says, “Then we’ll get to task get putting together what we need to deliver on that.”

She says her primary goal is to continue to meet the modern agricultural needs of the co-op’s farmer members.

I’m fortunate to be able to step into this opportunity, but excited to lead together with our collective executive team.”  She says, “The diversity of thought and differing backgrounds really speak to how we’re able to anticipate the future and move forward.”

Duitsman-Hunt takes over FCI’s top position from the retiring Aaron Johnson on January 1st, 2025.
