Farmer discusses ag input availability and fieldwork progress

After a couple of years of supply chain challenges impacting ag input availability, Northwest Ohio farmer Ryan Mohr says the situation has improved for his farm.

“Things have gone well. We did have some issues getting our chemical in but that was a supplier issue. They thought they had shipped it to us, but they hadn’t,” he says. “That showed up last Monday when we started our burndown.”

He tells Brownfield most of the fieldwork, including burndown application, is complete.  

“We don’t have any more spraying to do until we get the crop in the ground,” he says. “And, as of right now I don’t plan on having to do anymore tillage. We’re focused on keeping the planters rolling once we get better weather.”

Mohr began planting corn and soybeans last Wednesday in Van Wert County.
