Farmer Peterson appointed to University of Wisconsin Board of Regents
A Grantsburg farmer, author, and award winner has been named to the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents. Cris Peterson from Four Cubs Farm was appointed by Governor Scott Walker.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Jim Holte says the Governor could not have made a better pick, saying it’s crucial to have a seat at the table to express the need for agricultural education.
Peterson is the first farmer to be appointed to the Board of Regents in more than a decade.
Peterson has written several books for children that have been named Book of the Year through Wisconsin’s Ag in the Classroom program. She was also the 2004 World Dairy Expo woman of the year, the 2002 Association of Women in Agriculture outstanding woman award winner, and the 1997 Wisconsin farm woman of the year.
