Farmers finding ROI in PFR

The president of Beck’s Hybrids says their company is aimed at helping farmers spend more wisely.
Scott Beck says the company’s PFR Proven research program brings field-tested returns on a farmer’s investment.
“We’re farmers at heart, so we’re always curious.” He says, “And so, we invest in hundreds of studies a year across our 10 or more locations where if a product has three or more years of positive return on investment and positive yield, we call it PFR Proven.”
He tells Brownfield the current ag economy makes the program even more useful.
“You know, whenever farmers go through a period like this, the tendency is to pull back resources.” He says, “PFR Proven ideas give farmers ways they can explore spending dollars more wisely so they can get a better return on investment.”
Beck says highlights of this year’s testing include fungicide timing trials, alternative nitrogen sources, and much more. PFR research results are published by Beck’s each winter.
Brownfield spoke with Beck at the Central Illinois Becknology Days in El Paso.
