Farmers still investing in new technologies
The general manager of a central Illinois based precision ag dealer says many farmers are still investing in new technology despite the economic slowdown.
Lloyd Lewis, with Linco Precision, tells Brownfield…
“It’s a broad spectrum.” He says, “Some are looking to upgrade their planters. Some are interested in autonomy because in a way it’s free labor. Then also we have, you know, the Leaftech, which would be a new technology that they can analyze their crop real time. Every customer is different.”
He says increased efficiency is typically the goal.
“That’s a lot of it.” He says, “And just the capability of technology and then trying to implement it to where it’s profitable and practical. The learning curve for the farmer is probably one of the hardest things, and so we try to educate and support.”
Lewis says farmers are also showing increased interest this year in grain bin monitoring systems, as well as spray drones.
Linco Precision was named the 2024 Image Award winner at the recent MAGIE show hosted by the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association.
