FDA issues approval for Norbrook’s Defendazole

Brownfield's Meghan Grebner interviews Dr. Megan Bollin with Norbrook during the 2026 Cattle Industry Convention in Nashville.

Defendazole helps treat and control many of the internal parasites that can limit profit-potential and threaten the health of producer’s herds. Dr. Megan Bollin, technical services veterinarian for Norbrook says it is the first FDA-approved white drench dewormer for cattle and goats.

She tells Brownfield it’s been more than 30 years since another fenbendazole option has been on the market and producers can expect the same performance advantages as other similar products on themarket.

Defendazole has an 8-day meat withdrawal time in cattle, 48-hour milk discard for dairy cattle, and a 6-day meat withdrawal for goats.
