FFA Agribusiness Star awarded for gardening services
The Michigan FFA Star in Agribusiness says her journey to entrepreneurship started with volunteering.
Montague FFA’s Grace Torsch tells Brownfield her garden maintenance business was born after establishing relationships with clients through a community service project who needed more help outdoors.
“It just kept expanding,” she says. “I keep track of all my hours and bills working for a business and then six different households now.”
Torsch joined FFA in eighth grade and has excelled in several leadership competitions since, most recently winning the state extemporaneous speaking contest.
“My favorite experiences have always been the things where I got to actually put in the time and learn about them,” she shares. “Choose to do things that you care about.”
Torsch says she’d like to work with autonomous ag machinery after studying applied mathematics at Hillsdale College.
