FFA essay contest winner finds silver lining in pandemic

The winner of the 2022 National FFA essay contest found a silver lining in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Megan Clark of the Dewitt Central FFA Chapter says the topic for the essay contest sponsored by GROWMARK was how has COVID-19 positively impacted agriculture.

“And I talked about how meat lockers across the whole country were booming with business.”

Clark lives in east-central Iowa and tells Brownfield several area lockers had to stop taking appointments because they were so busy.

GROWMARK awarded her a $1,000 scholarship and her FFA Chapter received $750.

Brownfield interviewed Clark during the Iowa FFA Convention in Ames Monday.
