FFA members share the story of agriculture on National Ag Day

Students across the country are sharing the importance of agriculture on National Ag Day.

Celya Glowacki, advocacy and literacy officer with the National FFA Organization, says National Ag Day is a reminder that FFA members can elevate agriculture every time they zip up their blue jacket.

“They’re representing such a cool and unique industry that the whole world needs and it’s an opportunity for them to connect with consumers, their communities, and tell the story,” she says.

Students from FFA, 4-H, Agriculture Future of America, and Minorities in Agirulcutre, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences, are sharing information on the critical role agriculture plays in our culture and economy. Glowacki says students were able to participate in virtual programming and visits.

National FFA is celebrating agriculture throughout the entire week by participating in workshops on community service, engaging with lawmakers, celebrating ag literacy, and advocating for the industry.

Glowacki says this week is also an opportunity for consumers to learn more about the industry.

“It’s a cool opportunity for us to continue that message that you really do need agriculture just to go from day to day,” she says.

National Ag Day is an opportunity for others to learn how agriculture provides safe, abundant, and affordable products.
