Four inducted into the Ohio Agriculture Hall of Fame
The 2016 inductees into the Ohio Agriculture Hall of Fame
Since 1966 Ohio has recognized outstanding individuals who have contributed to Ohio agriculture in their careers by inducting them in the Ohio Agriculture Hall of Fame. The four people inducted at the 2016 Ohio State Fair on Friday are Jack Fisher, Dick Isler, Tim White and Dr. Keith Smith.
Jack Fisher served as the Executive Vice President of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation for 20 years and also worked for Ohio ag with the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
Dick Isler served as Executive Vice President of the Ohio Pork Council for over 40 years and also is a member of the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame, and was previously recognized by the National Pork Producers Executive Council.
Tim White worked as an agriculture journalist for almost 40 years, most of that time with the Ohio Farmer magazine. He also worked for a time with Successful Farmer and the Columbus Dispatch.
Dr. Keith Smith served as the Director of The Ohio State University Extension Service for more than 20 years, and worked with OSU as a professor and later as associate dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at OSU.
Smith could not attend the ceremony so the award was presented to his family in his honor.
