Frostic named NCGA’s First Vice President

The National Corn Growers Association has elected a Michigan farmer to its executive board.

Michigan Corn Growers Association President Matt Frostic tells Brownfield he’s excited to advocate for issues important to farmers, including the development of sustainable aviation fuel.

“My passion is to grind corn, but to do it in a sustainable way because we need these industries to be constant and predictable,” he says.

Frostic has been a MCGA board member for the past 12 years and a national board member for the past three.

“I’m so appreciative of the support of the board, instilling that confidence in me to do this, because the things that we’re doing are bigger than us, and it’s awesome to be a part of it,” he shares.

Frostic was selected as first vice president during this week’s St. Louis board meeting.

Next month, members will meet in Washington D.C. to set priorities and call on Congress as part of NCGA’s bi-annual Corn Congress.

On October 1, Jed Bower, of Ohio will become the organization’s president. The following year, Bower will become chair and Frostic will move up in leadership.

Frostic farms 1,000 acres of corn, soybeans, dry beans, and sugarbeets in Michigan’s Thumb as well as raises beef cattle.
