Give FFA Day helps ag education programs continue

An FFA official says Give FFA Day this Thursday, February 26^th is vital to continuing valuable agricultural education programming at the state and national level.

Kendra Jentz with the Wisconsin FFA Foundation says it’s the biggest fundraising day of the year. “We all have different experiences with FFA whether that’s leadership programming or contests, but to run all of them, we need funds to make it possible.”

Jentz says the Wisconsin goal is to raise five-thousand dollars Thursday, which will be matched by sponsors.

Jentz says members work hard for one big fundraising day. “We have twenty-four hours to raise those five-thousand dollars, so it starts at midnight and it ends at midnight the next day, and donations can be made on the Give FFA website that National FFA has.”

Jentz says donors going to the website should remember to check their state so the credit goes to the right place.

Jentz says Wisconsin’s share of the money is used to fill in program funding gaps. “Whether that’s in awards, whether that is towards supporting the state officers, or whether that is supporting leadership conferences itself or grants that are provided to our chapters.”

The giveffaday.org site will go live Thursday.  The link will also be available at the Wisconsin FFA Foundation website.
