Good harvest progress in Illinois

Programs iconGood weather for harvesting crops helped Illinois farmers get a lot more crops out of their fields.

As of Sunday, 77 percent of the state’s corn harvest was complete – an 18 percentage point increase from the previous week.

Soybean harvest jumped 20 percentage points form the week before and is now 83 percent complete.

That puts Illinois corn and soybean harvest progress close to the five year averages.

Sorghum harvest was 75 percent complete, on target with the average. Nearly 70-percent of the state’s winter wheat had been planted and more than one-third had emerged, behind last year and the average.
