Good “honored” to be elected USB Chair
The new chair of the United Soybean Board says managing costs will be a top priority for many growers in 2025.
Philip Good raises soybeans, corn, cotton, cattle and catfish with his son near Macon, Mississippi. “I know that on my farm this past year we experienced a drought. We are looking at our farm individually and making some tough decisions strategically looking at costs going forward. We’re doing the same thing here at the United Soybean Board.”
He tells Brownfield he’s looking forward to working alongside 76 directors on the board to help discover what’s going to give U.S. soy growers their greatest return on investment. “As we look forward to the next 5 (years) and even down the road more we’ve got some work to do and that is providing the most return and making strategic decisions on behalf of all soybean farmers.”
Good was recently elected USB’s new chair during its December meeting in St. Charles, Missouri. He’s served on the board for the past seven years and has held key leadership positions as secretary, executive committee member, and chair of the audit and evaluation committee.
