Goodin looks for truth in labeling in Indiana

Indiana Representative Terry Goodin has introduced a “Truth in Labeling” bill to be considered in the 2019 legislative session.

The bill would prevent lab-produced meat from being labeled the same as meat or poultry products that come from animals.

Goodin says Hoosiers want to know where the meat they eat and milk they drink comes from. He adds that he isn’t against cell-cultured meat, but the label on these products must make it clear it is grown in a lab.

  • Wasn’t this called COOL a few years ago and congress had to rescind the bill because it violated trade agreements, Canada and Mexico sued the US in the world court and we had to remove COOL. Seems this would fall under the same category.
