Governor Kehoe approves funds for MO State Fair projects

Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has approved a $55 million investment for two new stalling barns at the Missouri State Fair.

Kehoe tells Brownfield “Governor Parson and legislators started that before I came. We want to finish that work now and make this a world-class fairground. Agriculture is who we are in Missouri and we need to continue to show the world how we do things here.”

Kehoe signed Senate Bill 1 at the conclusion of a special session of the Missouri Legislature and the bill provides the funds to the Missouri Ag Department.

Missouri State Fair Executive Director Jason Moore says the two new facilities will be used for equine and multi-purpose.

“Not only to assist the existing 600-acre complex and give us the ability to host larger and broader shows, but really with the strategic location next to the new Michael L. Parson arena and sheep barn, it will help us transition to some new, upcoming events.”

Moore says work on those projects can begin in the new fiscal year.

Construction work on another new facility, the Michael L. Parson arena, continues at the Missouri State Fairgrounds and is expected to be completed in 2026.
