Grain markets respond higher as Mexican tariffs paused

President Trump says he’ll pause tariffs on imports of Mexican goods that fall under the U.S.-Mexico Canada agreement.

Arlan Suderman with Stone X Group says the grain markets are higher responding to the news, but overall, grain prices are lower.

“Low prices create demand and so, we certainly did that. Prices came down to competitive levels and now, with the good news coming out of a relationship with Mexico that we can continue to maintain that valuable partner, that underpins the fact we still have strong demand.”

Trump says the agreement with Mexico is good until April 2, when reciprocal tariffs are expected to go into effect.
