Grant funding from Lilly Endowment supports growth of the Indiana FFA organization

The executive director of the Indiana FFA Foundation says a recently awarded $1 million grant will support growth in the organization.

Lisa Chaudion says the funds from the Lilly Endowment will be used to update the Indiana FFA Leadership Center.

“It’s a hub for leadership, specifically for Indiana FFA members,” she says. “Students have the opportunity to have that leadership training, learn together, and develop those lifelong friendships,” she says. “These dollars are going to help us continue to do that.”

She tells Brownfield the updates are needed as student involvement continues to grow.

“Our membership has exploded over the last ten years,” she says. “Students needs change. We need to modify that facility, so our students can come in there no matter what their situation is and have a successful experience.”

The $1 million award builds on a previous $750,000 funding grant the foundation received late last year. Lilly Endowment Inc. awards 40 grants each year for students attending leadership camps across the state.
