Grassley concerned for ag as MAHA Commission misses deadline
U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley tells Brownfield he’s hearing the next Make America Healthy Again Commission report could be negative toward agriculture.
“I’m hearing from a lot of ag interests that there’s a lot of concern about it. Very much concern by farmers.”
The New York Times is reporting the next MAHA report will stop short of proposing direct restrictions on pesticides and ultra processed foods.
The Iowa Republican says during confirmation hearings, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr indicated he understood the concerns voiced by agriculture.
“But not having read the report, people who have either read it or people that have commented on leaks are kind of scared about the whole thing.”
The MAHA Commission missed its target of August 12th for releasing a follow-up to the initial report in May.
