Grassley looks favorably at nomination of Rollins for Ag Secretary
U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says he looks favorably on the nomination of Brooke Rollins to be the next Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield he’s somewhat familiar with the Texas native from her time serving on the Trump administration Economic Advisory Council in 2016.
“I look at her nomination in a very friendly way, I hope it’s something I can vote for. But in most cases, I don’t announce until after the hearings.”
He says he looks forward to discussing important ag issues with Rollins like trade and the farm bill.
“About my goal to put a limit on the amount that one family farmer can get from the farm program so we target it toward medium and small farmers, and not subsidize mega farmers to get more mega.”
Grassley says he’s also encouraged by Rollins’ background in FFA and 4-H.
