Greitens 2nd State of State mentions ag

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens told lawmakers in his State of the State address last night that his administration has been working to reduce the burden of regulations and red tape for farms and ranches, businesses and communities, and will continue to do so.

Earlier this week, Greitens submitted comments to the EPA on what he calls costly and burdensome water regulations for Missouri stemming from the Obama administration’s EPA settlement in a lawsuit filed by a St. Louis environmental group.

Greitens referenced Missouri native and farmer George Washington Carver in his address but did not say anything more about agriculture in his speech, which was overshadowed by reports that came out after the speech that Greitens admitted to an extra-marital affair in 2015.

Governor Greitens did not mention agriculture in his first State of the State address in 2017.
