GROWMARK agronomists embracing AI

The FS agronomy director with GROWMARK says artificial intelligence is now shaping recommendations some agronomists are bringing to farmers in the field.

Brendan Bachman says the cooperative has partnered with Intelinair to introduce a new AI agent inside its myFS Agronomy app.

“We’re looking at better seed placement, better management of in-season risk, access to a whole host of different product guides.”  He says, “What AI enables us to do is crunch absolutely massive piles of data and information to make the best decision possible.”

He tells Brownfield incorporating AI gives FS crop specialists greater access to agronomic data that otherwise might not be uncovered.

“With AI, we’re taking data sets that would have taken hours, in some cases days, and all that’s getting ran in the matter of minutes.”  He says, “And so yeah, our recommendations are going to be impacted by the use of these tools, and I think for the better.”

Bachman says continued artificial intelligence enhancements can empower agronomists with data-focused recommendations that better support decision-making on the farm and ultimately improve farm profitability.
