Growth Energy’s Skor confident Trump admin will tackle E15 solution

The CEO of Growth Energy says a nationwide E15 standard is one of her biggest priorities in 2025.

Emily Skor tells Brownfield she’s optimistic President-elect Donald Trump will move quickly on a federal E15 solution. “We do have a president coming in who has a strong track record on E15 and is very supportive. When he talked about biofuels on the campaign trail he did talk about E15.”

She says the years-long delay in establishing a federal standard has been frustrating for ethanol producers, consumers, and fuel retailers. “The greatest uncertainty is we don’t find out until late April or May if we’re going to get this emergency waiver. We have gotten it year over year, but because of that uncertainty we’re not seeing the investment and commitment from the retailers that we could see if they knew this wasn’t a question.”

Monte Shaw, executive director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, recently told Brownfield he expects the issue to be addressed within the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency.

Skor spoke to Brownfield at the Iowa Farm Bureau’s annual meeting recently held in Des Moines.
