H5N1 detected in two additional Iowa dairy herds

More cases of H5N1 in dairy cattle have been reported in Iowa.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship says the disease was recently detected in two dairy herds in Sioux County. It’s the 13th time H5N1 has been discovered within dairy cattle in the state.

State Ag Secretary Mike Naig says there is no concern about the safety of pasteurized milk or dairy products.
