Harvest nearly complete in Arkansas

Harvesting is nearly done in Arkansas.

USDA officials say 99% of the cotton is harvested, 99% of the soybeans are in the bin, and all of the sweet potatoes are harvested.

All of the peanuts have been dug, and 90% have been harvested.

Eighty-eight percent of the winter wheat has been planted, and 71% of that crop has already emerged.  Thirty-eight percent of the wheat is rated good, and 47% is considered fair.  Just 7% is in excellent condition.

Pasture conditions are not what producers are hoping for.  Only 11% of pasture ground is considered good, with 41% rated fair and 33% rated poor.

Topsoil moistures are 15% surplus, 71% adequate, 10% short, and 4% very short.
