Harvest top of mind for Iowa grower

A southeast Iowa farmer says he’s been tackling some pre-harvest priorities.

Tom Adam says repair work and grain marketing are at the top of the list. “Getting the equipment ready for harvest is going to be a primary thing. I raise some wheat and I’ll be moving that out here soon. I’ve also got some soybeans I need to deliver that, fortunately, were sold quite some time ago, but I’m waiting on the river levels to go down a little bit so we can get them hauled out.”

He tells Brownfield he has an optimistic outlook for this year’s crop. “On either side of wet and dry. It’s actually pretty good. No complaints right here in this area.”

Adam raises corn, soybeans, and wheat near Harper.
