Hot, dry weather puts European crops under stress

From the Maxar Weather Desk

Europe’s hot, dry weather is threatening their crops. Maxar’s Weather Desk is forecasting 104 degrees for Paris Thursday afternoon and at or near 100 for Frankfurt and Brussels. Dry, high pressure is in the forecast from Scandinavia to Spain.

The company’s European meteorologist Matthew Dross says temperatures will be above normal with new records, especially in France. Dry soil, combined with heat and a lack of rain, will cause crop stress, particularly on corn and sunflowers, with a high likelihood of yield reductions. It will also cause lower wine production in France.
