Howell, Brown appointed to lead Indiana Rural Development and Farm Service Agency

The USDA has announced new leadership for Indiana’s Rural Development and Farm Service Agency.
Steve Howell, who most recently served as the senior director of industry affairs for the Indiana Soybean Alliance, will lead the state’s Rural Development.
Howell previously served as the director of community affairs for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and as deputy district director under Congressman Mark Souder.
Steve Brown is the state’s new Farm Service Agency Executive Director.
Brown previously served in this position under the first Trump administration. He has more than 32 years of experience working in local USDA offices in Porter and Carroll counties, as well as the Indiana State FSA Office. Brown has been active on the family farm for more than 40 years.
