Hutchinson native crowned Minnesota’s 71st Princess Kay
The 71st Princess Kay of the Milky Way is an ag and food business management student at the University of Minnesota.
Rachel Visser of Hutchinson was crowned Wednesday night on the eve of the Minnesota State Fair.
“I’m involved on a small family farm near Litchfield, Minnesota where they milk about 30 jersey cows. I started working there about eight years ago and helping on the farm and fell in love with working with the calves and feeding the cows, and since then have fallen in love with the dairy community as a whole.”
She calls Princess Kay a unique and special role.
“I get to serve dairy farmers across the state and not only share my love for dairy, but promote the stories that they have from their dairy farms and the products that they work so hard to produce.”
As Princess Kay, Visser will serve as the official goodwill ambassador for the nearly 1,800 dairy farm families in Minnesota.
