Illinois ag groups launch Agribusiness Management Program

A new program is being developed in Illinois to deliver farm business management information to busy farm families and professionals.

The Illinois Soybean Association has partnered with the Illinois Farm Business Farm Management Association and the University of Illinois to introduce the Agribusiness Management or AMP program.

“The changing world of agriculture, what is happening on the global scene and technology. AMP is going to being to address any of those challenges.”

Linda Kull, Director of Ag innovations for ISA, tells Brownfield the program aims to fill the increased need for business management skills and fit the education into a farmer’s tight schedule.

“You know, hardly anybody has time to stop. Even an hour webinar can be a challenge sometimes, but for those busy farm professionals we are being very sensitive to that and looking at what they need and how we can be a part of their team.”

Kull says AMP webinars will begin in January and they are planning an AMP conference for this summer.

Topics they plan to cover include succession planning, farm labor management, tax law support, local and global markets and more.
