Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association President announces departure

The president of the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association (IFCA) is leaving the position at the end of the year.
Kevin Johnson says he’s accepted a position with the Illinois Soybean Association.
“A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from the Illinois Soybean Association about running their government affairs team, and I weighed all the options,” he says, “and IFCA has always been home and always will be home, but this new opportunity I could not pass up.”
He tells Brownfield he plans to help IFCA transition to new leadership.
“It’s just been a great opportunity for me, and I want to leave it in as good a spot as it was left to me.” He says, “I’m excited about the new challenges. A lot of different issues, but a lot of the same issues. It goes back to what I love, the government affairs and working on policy that will help Illinois agriculture move forward.”
Johnson, who has spent 13 years at IFCA and has been president since 2021, says he’ll start his new role with the Illinois Soybean Association in January.
