Impossible Whopper sales growth under expectations

The Impossible Whopper reportedly didn’t lift Burger King’s fourth quarter same-store sales as high as Wall Street estimates.

A report from CNBC says analysts expected Burger King’s same-store sales growth to be 3.1 percent. Sales grew, but despite the buzz about the plant-based sandwich, growth was only 0.6 percent.

Last quarter the company said the Impossible Whopper strongly contributed to Burger King’s 5 percent same-store sales growth. The sandwich was launched nationally in August.
