Indiana Farm Bureau members remain concerned about trade, E-15 moving into 2026

Indiana Farm Bureau members are outlining their top policy concerns as they prepare for the 2026 crop year.
District 6 director Jon Sparks says farmers want trade, not aid.
“It’s a short-term fix to a longer-term problem,” he says. “We’ve seen input costs continue to ratchet up. A resolution to some of the geopolitical things that are affecting our markets would be huge.”
Boone County farmer Tyler Everett says getting year-round E-15 across the finish line could help improve profitability.
“In my area, I have two different ethanol plants within an hour of my house,” he says. “I would love to be able to take my corn there and sell it at a better market price than where I’m taking my corn currently.”
Both farmers say engaging with their legislators will be continue to be critical in the new year.
