Indiana Farm Bureau’s Villwock announces retirement

Indiana Farm Bureau president Don Villwock announced Thursday he will retire following the completion of his term December 31, 2015.  “I’m not going to seek reelection at our Annual Meeting in November,” he says.  “I wanted to do it now for candidates that may want to seek that position to give them time to campaign this summer.”

Villwock has served as Indiana Farm Bureau president and chairman of the board for 14 years.

He tells Brownfield a lot has changed in his time as president.  “We see more in Indiana the urbanization of our state and this rural interface with our cousins and neighbors from town,” he says.  “It makes it very challenging as we try to maintain what we know in agriculture – the sights, sounds, and smells of agriculture.”

Indiana Farm Bureau will elect a new president November 17, 2015 at its annual meeting in Indianapolis.
