Indiana FFA State Convention underway, returns to Purdue campus
Blue and gold corduroy jackets have descended on Purdue University’s campus for the 94th Indiana FFA State Convention.
Stephanie Berenda, a soon to be senior with the South Newton FFA Chapter, says she’s excited the convention is back in West Lafayette after being virtual in 2020 and taking place at the Indiana State Fair in 2021 and 2022.
“Things have been amazing. The sessions have been amazing. There’s been a lot of different workshops, interactive things that members can benefit from,” she says. “The retiring adresses have been on point. The district and delegate businesses have been phenomenal, and it’s been a very enjoyable convention.”

Emma Betz, a senior with Northeast Dubois FFA, is currently serving as District 10 president.
“I came to Purdue University on Sunday at noon to get convention ready and it’s been quite stressful, but it’s gone nice and smooth and all of our hard work throughout the year has really paid off and it shows,” she says.

The Hoosier Degree general session is tonight at the Elliott Hall of Music. The Stars over Indiana will be awarded and State Southern Region Vice President Jenna Kelsay will deliver her retiring address.
The convention continues tomorrow with the final session and the election of the 2023-2024 state officers.
