Indiana State Fair connects state fairgoers to pork producers

The Indiana Pork Producers Association Executive Director says the Indiana State Fair is an opportunity to connect fairgoers with producers.

Josh Trenary says the organization wants consumers to be aware of how pork is produced.

“There’s a lot of rural residents in this state with no connection really to agriculture, but they live out amongst our farmers, our members and our buildings,” he says. “They have to have some comfort level with how they’re raising pigs.”

He says working in the pork tents across the fairgrounds allows producers to directly talk to consumers.

“Indiana Pork has a has a consistent presence at the fairgrounds,” he says. “We’ve got 3 concession locations over the fairgrounds. It helps us out and helps our pork farmers out.”

The 2024 Indiana State Fair runs through August 18th.
