Indiana’s videotaping bill held in the House
Significant testimony both for and against the bill that would make it illegal to photograph, videotape or record agricultural operations without consent was heard by Indiana’s House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee last week. Testimony from ag groups argued for the need to protect the privacy of farmers and their interests while groups representing some facets of the media, animal rights organizations and environmental organizations opposed the bill.
Committee Chairman Don Lehe has held the bill until the committee’s next hearing.
That is expected to happen later this week.
