Industry outlook highlights ISA Summer Soy Series
Soybean farmers across the Midwest have been following key trends that can help them position their farms for success.
Aaron Putze with the Iowa Soybean Association says an increase in soybean meal demand is expected. “It’s going to be competitively priced,” he said. “Our farmers are telling us to really zero in on moving (soybean) meal.”
He tells Brownfield ISA sees a favorable rise in the use of soybean oil. “Looking at what we are doing from a biodiesel, renewable diesel, or SAF standpoint. And, keeping current on that technology while also being mindful of the inputs, and also the pressure from imports and the pressure that is putting on the oil side and the renewable fuel side.”
Putze says more certainty is needed when it comes to renewable fuels policy.
He spoke to Brownfield at ISA’s Summer Soy Series event in Williamsburg on Wednesday.
