Iowa Corn leader on Pruitt: ‘We’re not sad to see him go’

The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) is not shedding any tears over the resignation of EPA administrator Scott Pruitt.

“We’re not sad to see him go. He’s been real hard on the RFS,” says ICGA vice president Curt Mether of Logan, Iowa.

Mether hopes the next head of EPA will be friendlier to the RFS and to ethanol.

“The RFS is just so important to us because the ag economy is kind of slow right now—kind of rough—and ethanol is just a really good product. So we need all that we can get.”

Mether says they have already invited acting EPA administrator Andrew Wheeler to visit Iowa, to see and hear about how important the ethanol industry is to the state.
