Iowa farmer bullish on sustainable aviation fuels market

An Iowa farmer is bullish on the future of sustainable aviation fuels.

Carl Jardon of Randolph says he expects the market to take off in the next five to ten years.

“You know, the ethanol industry didn’t happen overnight, so these things don’t happen overnight either.”

He tells Brownfield agriculture has a great opportunity.

“We could have a really good market for the aviation fuel if we lower our (carbon intensity) scores and get that done for the airlines and the military. That market could be huge if we don’t mess it up.”

Jardon is a past president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association and says efforts to promote the sustainable aviation fuel industry continue at the state and national level.
