An eastern Iowa farmer says he’s making some of his final preparations for the 2025 growing season.
Lance Lillibridge tells Brownfield it could be an expensive year to raise a crop. “It’s agriculture. Every year has its challenges and we’re up for that challenge every year. We’ll see what happens.”
He says he changed up his fertilizer application strategy. “We did very little fall application of any fertilizer just because it’s so dry. I was concerned about that. We’re going to do everything this spring and keep our fingers crossed that we get a good season to do that.”
Lillibridge raises a corn-on-corn rotation in Benton County.
